BillingServ v3.1.4 is now available. This release adds digital downloads with software licensing support, along with new tools for support teams, billing operations, integrations, account security and email.
It is a broad update, but the theme is simple: fewer gaps between the way you sell, bill, support and manage customer access.
Sell digital downloads with software licensing
BillingServ now supports digital downloads with software licensing built into the same purchase. You can sell software, ebooks, documents, videos, templates and other downloadable products, then deliver them automatically after payment.
For software products, a purchase can include both the download and a license key. You can control activations, reissues and validation while keeping the license connected to the customer’s order. This means access can follow billing status without requiring a separate licensing system.
Digital downloads can also use secure links, download limits and expiring access. You can sell products as one-time purchases or recurring subscriptions, depending on how your customers use them.

Support Desk improvements for growing teams
The Support Desk has several new tools to help teams handle customer requests with more consistency.
Service-level agreements let you define expectations around response and resolution times. Macros help agents respond to common requests without rewriting the same answer every time. Secure uploads make it safer for customers to send files, while email forwarding helps bring support conversations into the desk even when they start elsewhere.
These improvements are designed for the point where a support inbox is no longer enough, but a separate helpdesk creates another system to manage.
Credit Notes with UK HMRC VAT compliance
BillingServ now supports credit notes with UK HMRC VAT compliance. This gives you a clearer way to correct invoices, record adjustments and keep the related billing documents together.
Credit notes are useful when an order changes, a customer receives a partial refund or an invoice needs to be corrected after it has already been issued. Keeping those adjustments in the billing system makes the record easier to follow for your team and your customers.
More ways to connect billing to your workflow
v3.1.4 adds InstantServ direct-to-cart links, so you can send customers straight to a cart with the products or services you want them to buy.
It also adds webhooks. Your own application can now react to events from BillingServ and keep other systems in sync when something changes. This is useful for provisioning, customer access, internal automation and custom product workflows.
With direct-to-cart links and webhooks together, you can keep your own website or application at the front of the customer experience while BillingServ handles the billing workflow behind it.
Better account security and registration
Account session management gives customers a way to view active sessions and sign out sessions they no longer recognise or need.
We have also added a registration link to the login page and introduced a redesigned registration experience. The goal is to make the first step into BillingServ clearer, whether someone is joining through a direct sign-up or an invitation from your team.
New email templates and delivery improvements
BillingServ now includes brand new email templates, giving you a cleaner starting point for customer communications.
We have also improved email delivery reliability and added a payment complete page for legacy “Pay Now” email links. Older links can now lead customers to a clear completion step instead of leaving them unsure whether their payment went through.
Platform improvements and fixes
This release upgrades BillingServ to Laravel 13 and FilamentPHP 5. It also includes fixes for VAT processing, invoice delivery, automatic logout, CAPTCHA loading, account branding, country selection during registration and other frontend and billing issues.
