# Design Settings

> Control the visual assets and styling used by your customer-facing site.

## What this page is for

Design Settings is where you maintain the visual identity of the site. Use it to update the assets shown to customers, such as the logo, favicon, Apple icon, and Android icon.

The page also supports custom CSS. That is useful when your brand needs small visual adjustments that are not covered by the standard settings.

## Settings explained

* **Custom header HTML**: HTML inserted into the site's header. Use it for approved tracking or head-level markup.
* **Custom footer HTML**: HTML inserted into the site's footer.
* **Custom CSS**: CSS rules used to adjust the site's appearance. Test responsive layouts after changing it.
* **Favicon**: The small browser-tab icon.
* **Apple icon**: The icon used when the site is saved to an Apple device's home screen.
* **Android icon**: The icon used for Android shortcuts or installed web app metadata.

Uploaded assets are stored by the application. Use the preview and delete controls to replace an old asset rather than leaving several confusing versions in place.

## Before you save

Use image files that match the size and format expected by your site. After saving an upload, check the public site in a private browser window if the old asset is still cached.
