# Account Security

> Update the email address and password used to access the admin panel.

## What this page is for

Account Security is for changing your own sign-in details.

You can update the account email and password. When changing the password, enter it again in the confirmation field and save only after checking that the new details are correct.

If you use additional authentication features, manage those from the security controls available in your account menu.

## Fields and actions

* **Email**: Changes the email address used for login and account notifications. It must be unique.
* **Password**: Replaces the current password. Leave it blank to keep the existing password. New passwords must be at least eight characters and include uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, and a symbol.
* **Confirm password**: Must match the new password.
* **Log out**: Ends the current admin session.

The password fields are revealable so you can check what you typed before saving.
